Hello Crazy Folk,
I've caught a cold. No I haven't lost a lot of money on an errant shares, just caught a cold.
The way to avoid getting colds, I'm told by experts I talked to in my other life as a consumer broadcaster, is to keep washing your hands. Because cold germs are transmitted more by touch than the air.
It's important to avoid colds in the grand old art of share-shifting. Why? Well because short-term memory is affected by the sniffles. And your concentration also goes. So does your patience.
So try to avoid people with colds and you won't catch as many - and maybe your share dabbling will improve. Not a great improvement of course, but in these delicate arts, anything is a help.
Talking about patience, I am reminded that this is a jolly good virtue to have. Without it, we tend to rush into a share purchase. We think the price will move up if we don't act quickly. We think that hordes of other punters out there are going to wade in before us.
Well, maybe yes, and maybe know. You may have noticed, by studying all that lovely info on ShareCrazy.com, that when good news pushes a share upwards, there seem to be as many sellers as buyers.
That's because good news about a share sets off a wave of profit taking. And profit taking can soon bring a share price down - even for a realy little goer. So waiting a few days, or a week or two, can pay dividends sometimes. The share gets hot, then gets cold. And if you buy when cold you can sell later - when it's hot again. If that happy cycle happens, of course.
And now it's time to return to the Punter's Return. Rock on!
