THOUGHT FOR TUESDAY 5TH DECEMBER 2006
From top share author MALCOLM STACEY

Hello Crazy Campers,

I've said this before, but at the risk of reapting myself, I'll repeat myself.

There is nearly always a big interest in shop shares in the run up to Christmas. This is not a logical rush - but then again what is common sense in Shareland? Very scarce, that's what.

This rush into shop shares is caused by the fact that everyone sees loads of people in shops. This happens every December - and stores know all about it. I once read that two thirds of all books are bought at Christmas time and even more toys.

Because stores know about this Christmas rush, they make allowances for it. It simply makes up for very bad times in other parts of the year.

But everyone thinks that shop shares are undervalued because everyone is buying loads of stuff in December. So my trick is to buy shop shares now and sell in very early January or even in the gap between Christmas and New Year. Normally, this makes me a profit.

This year it could be a bit different, though. Shop shares have fallen a lot in the Summer and early Autumn. because credit card debt has put a drag on them.

There are signs though that shop shares are already rising again. So please make up you own mind, but I'm buying a few shop shares this week. And now you can all rock on!
