Hello fellow Crazies,
There can be a time lag on good news. This is not always so - especially on companies which are well known.
But there are times when even famous companies can be slow to rise in share value after some very good tidings hit the news stands or airwaves.
Take UK Coal (UKC.L) for example. My Sunday paper said that this company was reviewing its land assets and they were found to be worth a lot more than everyone thought.
I expect other Sunday papers said the same thing.
On the following Monday, the shares did indeed move up. But not, as I recall by that much. I should have bought some on Monday morning. I did not. I thought that any rise in share price must have already happened (I don't get up that early, chums).
However, the next day there was another big jump. And the next day too and as far as I know UK Coal may still be rising in price. Or it may not.
All this goes to show that share prices can keep on going for some days after the big event. Not always, you understand. But sometimes. You may or may not be able to take advantage of this small fact. I just don't know. Rock on!
