The Right Tools for the Job -- Shares Magazine - 22nd-28th Febuary 2001
(exerpt)...Catering for the novice investor is Sharecrazy.com, run by
Malcolm Stacey, author of The Armchair Tycoon.
The site prides itself on
being a jargon free, friendly base for investors to learn and swap ideas. It
is a good starting place for an apprentice investor, and best of all - it's
free.
Services include jargon-busting explanations of investment terms, news and a
bulletin board, all hosted by a cartoon character aptly named Joe Public.
'Most websites say they are aimed at the private investor, but they're not;
they are aimed at professionals in the city, and many aren't even written in
English', says millionaire Malcolm, who has a private portfolio of around
200 stocks.
He adds: The Sharecrazy.com site gives columns from city experts a wide
berth, preferring to be a forum for private investors to exchange views. On
Sharecrazy the only 'expert' who has a column is me'...
Sharecrazy.com is included in the 'Education' section at the end of the
article under 'Must Have Kit'.
