Make Millions the easy way ! - 7/6/00 Sheffield Star

Doncaster man shares his stock dealing secrets. Britain's first major stock - exchange website for private investors has been launched this week thanks to a Doncaster born writer. Armchair Tycoon, a book by local writer Malcolm Stacey formed the inspiration for Sharecrazy.com it was revealed today. Businessman Alan Green picked up a copy of Malcolm's book, followed it's advice and made what he calls a 'modest fortune' in a few months. 'It was brilliant stuff, written so simply that I decided it needed a wider audience', said Alan. He put the money he had made from share dealing into setting up the website which is now available on line to millions of wannabe millionaires.

He has also enlisted Malcolm, a former Radio 4 investigator who has also penned 'Poolside Tycoon' to write a daily advice spot for the Sharecrazy site. 'I'm writing it free of charge because I've always wanted more ordinary folk to get involved in stocks and shares and it has become a bit of a crusade with me' said Malcolm. He said Alan was just as dedicated in getting rid of the silly jargon and mystique which surrounded share trading and felt certain the new website would be the answer.

Once share fans enter the site they'll be shown around by a cartoon character, Joe Public. They will be able to post comments, tips and company news for other share fans, ask questions of financial experts and make use of a red hot financial news service. They can also click directly into a low cost trading service by the online brokers e-cortal
